How it works

Five key components work together to give you complete zoning control.

At the heart of every installation is our Wiring Control Board, managing up to 16 circuits and 8 zones per manifold. Temperature sensors — wired or wireless — provide independent room-by-room control, with wireless options ideal for retrofitting existing homes.

Everything runs on Home Assistant, an open-source platform on a Raspberry Pi that delivers intuitive thermostat control, scheduling, and energy monitoring from any device on your network. Advanced customisation lets one thermostat control multiple circuits, and multiple manifolds are managed through a single interface with plug-and-play setup.

Optional Modules: Manual Switch Module for backup control, Relay Module for devices like pool heating, and RS485 Module for remote heat pump automation.

Main Automation Components

The heart of the system is a Raspberry Pi running the powerful Home Assistant software, coupled with our custom Wiring Control Board.

Together, these components form a fully integrated automation platform. The Raspberry Pi serves as the brain, processing sensor data and managing thermostat logic, while the Wiring Control Board handles the physical connections to your hydronic system — actuators, pumps, valves, and sensors.

Each manifold in your home connects to its own Wiring Control Board, and all boards communicate with the central Raspberry Pi. This modular approach means the system scales effortlessly — from a small apartment to a large multi-zone residence.

Wiring Control Board

Our custom-designed Wiring Control Board is the central hub that connects all sensors and controls every component in your hydronic system.

  • Central Hub: Connects all sensors (Temperature, Humidity, Flow, Pressure).
  • Total Control: 12 on-board relays manage up to 16 circuits, plus pumps, transformers, actuators, and the heat/cool source.

  • Communication: Dedicated microcontroller for seamless wireless sensor communication.
  • Actuator Support: Compatible with 24VAC (70mA) or 230VAC actuators.
